In true Aussie style, we have made a long weekend out of a day off for the Races. Enjoy every moment!


It all gets off to flying start with HALLOWEEN celebrations on Friday 31st October.  Get spooked at The Curse of Dumbalk, Halloween Spooktacular at Foster, Halloween Disco at Korumburra, Flesh Creek Halloween Disco at Fish CreekHalloween Dance at Poowong or Halloween Party at Welshpool and for the big kids – Halloween Karaoke at Port Welshpool.

In many of the local towns you’ll find Trick-or-treaters out and about – keep a look at for the decorated houses! 


TARWIN LOWER HAS IT COVERED

Saturday 1st, starts with a Centenary Celebration of the Tarwin Lower Primary School with school tours and the Beady Eye bush Band.  Saturday night, Melbourne’s premier cover band Lionel Loves Vinyl is playing at the Riverview Hotel.

Sunday 2nd, join in the family fun at The Tarwin Lower Lifestyle and Automotive Festival with car, truck, tractor and machinery displays, live music, food and market stalls.

Monday 3rd, browse the variety of stalls at the Tarwin Lower Market.  The Thirsty Work Studio Gallery will be open every day and has an amazing range of art works, gifts and “Desert-ed” Exhibiton by local artist Mandy Gunn.  

Try your hand at fishing on the Tarwin River, wander along the boardwalk or enjoy a picnic on the enormous 35-metre-long picnic table.


CUP WEEKEND MARKETS & EVENTS

Friday 31 October

  • Indulge in a spectacular three course Winemakers Dinner hosted by Loch & Key Restaurant in Loch Village.  Bookings essential.

Saturday 1 November

Sunday 2 November

  • Head to the Meeniyan Hotel for Sunday arvo live music session.
  • Get competitive at Foster Golf Club – enter the 36-hole Spring Classic Golf Tournament running over Sunday and Monday.

Monday 3 November

  • Cup Eve, DJ Henry will have the Korumburra Middle Hotel rocking with his DJ and saxophone all in one gig.

Tuesday 4 November – Melbourne Cup Day


While you’re here, take a stroll along the Great Southern Rail Trail – choose a section of the 130 kilometre trail.  Enjoy a country drive to the Villages and Towns of South Gippsland and explore the galleries, boutique stores and eateries
