Spend a day wandering through charming Vintage and op shops, where every corner holds a story and every item feels like a piece of the past waiting to be rediscovered. The Olive Branch in Welshpool entices you with scones or a toastie, browse Itchycoo Park Vintage op shop in Foster, Retro Mama Meeniyan and The Vintage, Spirit and Soul Emporium in Leongatha.

Take a Sunday drive, starting at the Kongwak Retro Vintage Market where collectors, makers, and curious visitors gather to share their love of all things funky and nostalgic, every Sunday from 10am – 2pm. Continue to Korumburra, known for Vintage wares in a selection of small interesting stores; Korumburra Collectors & Makers, Small ForestMerchants,  and House of Hope Foundation Eclectic Charity Shop.  

Put your feet up in the afternoon, where Vintage flair meets creative cocktails. Retro themed Quirky Bar & Distilling Co in Leongatha has a 60’s and 70’s vibe and every cocktail has a story, drawing its name from Quentin Tarantino’s greatest hits – check their Events page too.

The Fish Creek Tea Cosy Festival  blends creativity, community, and a touch of whimsy. From 16-24 May, you’ll see teapots “dressed” in everything from classic vintage patterns to elaborate, modern fiber art. Exhibitors compete for the favour of the judges. Tea Cosy prize categories include Traditional, Exuberant Whimsy, Life on the Farm, Students, Recycled and first-time entrants. Visitors enjoy exhibitions, workshops, market stalls, and, of course, plenty of tea – High Tea, Devonshire Tea, with treats to warm your heart.

Cooler evenings call for a movie night at Stadium 4 Cinemas in Leongatha paired with a delicious dinner at one of the many local eateries. From hearty comfort food at a local Pub or Club to Restaurant flavours that transport you across the globe and a range of Takeaway options to suit every craving.

For those who like to stay active, the scenic Great Southern Rail Trail offers a chance to take in the region’s natural beauty while getting your heart pumping.  Or just enjoy the fresh air and stride out on one of the many Walks in South Gippsland.

There’s a vibrant mix of Community Markets dotted throughout the region at Toora, Foster, Fish Creek, Koonwarra, Leongatha, Mirboo North, Korumburra and Kongwak, Jumbunna and Loch.

Make some time to visit one of the many Art Galleries or Exhibitions at Stockyard Gallery in Foster, Leongatha Art and Craft Gallery, Meeniyan Art Gallery or Art Lives Here at Coal Creek in Korumburra.  The unique Artcubes around South Gippsland are showcasing works by local artists at Venus Bay Community Centre and Saggasser Park Toora, until the three cubes will reunite at Fish Creek for the Tea Cosy Festival.
