SANTA is heading to Loch Village for the town’s inaugural Christmas Market, a festive event blending carols, present shopping and family fun on Friday, December 1.
In addition to the town’s regular retail and hospitality businesses, which will all be open for the evening, there will be 25 market stalls specialising in Christmas gifts and decorations.
Local craft and produce items will feature, with the latter including tasty treats such as preserves and olives. Poowong Scouts will sell Christmas trees. In the country tradition, Santa is giving Rudolph and the rest of the team a break, riding into town in style on the Loch CFA truck, from which well-behaved children can expect to get tasty lollies.
Strzelecki Lions Club will sell Christmas cakes and there will also be a barbecue.
Loch Primary School Choir is ready to sing carols, accompanied by the South Gippsland Concert Band.
The Loch Village Christmas Market runs from 5pm until 8pm with Victoria Street closed between Smith and Clarence Streets, and entry is free.
