Gallery 1: Sally Darlison – “Wild Paces”. Sally Darlison’s work explores place, the journey to and from, and the relationship that we have with place. Darlison particularly enjoys exploring new places, observing both the natural and the built environment. She aims to share some of her awe of the world with others, highlighting the beauty of the natural world.
Gallery 2: Dawn Duncan-Smith – “Made in Australia”. “From a young age, I learned valuable skills from loved ones —my mother’s gentle guidance in cooking, sewing, and knitting shaped our family’s wardrobe — which has had a lasting impact on my adult life.” This is a heartfelt textile exhibition that weaves stories of childhood memories into a vibrant tapestry of imagination.
Gallery 3: Helen Reeves – “A common thread”. “I like the way a single thread of fibre can create direction, movement, continuity, and can enhance the surface texture.” The use of a thread in these works is set against a background of handmade paper, remnants of dressmaking patterns, sheet music, and recycled paper; creating a collage — a process that involves assembling various materials on a surface.
