Get on your bike and plant some trees at South Gippsland Landcare Network’s (SGLN) Pedal & Plant Day on Sunday July 28.

SGLN’s Pedal & Plant is an annual ride and tree planting event held on National Tree Day. It encourages the community to get outdoors and improve their mental health by cycling, or walking, on the Great Southern Rail Trail and planting trees.

This year, Pedal & Plant will be held at Kardella, just five kilometres from Korumburra – the perfect distance for a family bike ride! There will be kids’ activities, and the tree planting will be followed by a free barbecue lunch provided by the Leongatha Rotary Club.

The event is hosted by SGLN in partnership with Arawata Landcare Group and supported by a South Gippsland Shire Council Community Grant.

Please register for catering purposes by visiting the National Tree Day website. Park at either Korumburra or Ruby and ride your bike to Kardella in time for the tree planting at 10am.
