The Sand Brothers music has been described as “Disheveled coastal rock, with late changes and storms developing in the evening”. A new musical project from Greg Walker (Machine Translations) and Rick Sands (The Night Party), along with Pete Cook (Yamamoto). Their music taps into an immediate and deep melodic seam of driving Australian melodic rock mined by the likes of The Triffids, Crow, The Bad Seeds and Died Pretty – resulting in atmospheres of urgency and calm, shadows of light and dark, power and restraint.
Their debut album, Too Much Sky garnered critical praise and radio play across Australia. They released an EP in July, Shadows in the Square, to be followed by a second album in the new year.
“Sand Brothers Live In concert at Mirboo North Hall”, hosted by Mirboo North arts Inc, will be showcasing songs from across their catalogue, including some new unreleased songs from the forthcoming album.
