A joyous day of singing workshops and a concert with a cappella groups Akasa and Makepisi.
Akasa perform passionate vocal and rhythmic songs combining exceptional songwriting and musicianship to create a truly distinctive sound. Influenced by sounds and cultural movements from across the globe, Akasa’s music is relevant and empowering.
Makepisi: In the style of Ladysmith Black Mambazo, this 5-piece a-cappella male vocal group showcases powerful voices hailing from South African choirs and shows that have toured internationally including the Lion King. Their rich, invigorating sound is guaranteed to inspire and uplift.
Saturday 26 April 2025, at Meeniyan Town Hall
11am Workshop led by Akasa and Makepisi. Workshop participants are invited to showcase their workshop songs in the afternoon concert.
2pm Concert featuring both of our guest groups
