Bookings are essential! If there is insufficient demand, we may cancel two business days before a session or add sessions if demand is high. Most sessions run for two hours & start at the Bunurong
Environment Centre. Dress appropriately for the weather and the activity. The cost is $22/head, children under five come for free.
Dinosaur Discovery
Join our expert palaeontologist and be excited and inspired by the past. They can tell you of local dinosaur discoveries and the Dinosaur Dreaming dig! These activities are offered over three different sites with one focussing on Koolasuchus cleelandi, Victoria’s fossil emblem or join the hands-on lab experience.
Making Art from Nature
Use a selection of found objects, natural and otherwise, to create works of art you can take home.
Native Plants & Animals
Enjoy a relaxing stroll along the coast learning how to identify our special native flora and fauna.
Estuarine Ecology
Explore the dynamic estuarine areas of Anderson’s Inlet where you’ll find coastal scrub, open woodlands, mangroves, saltmarsh and mudflats.
Dancing with the Stars!
See stars and planets through astronomical telescopes. Learn the apps you can use to navigate the skies. Bring your own astronomy gear and binoculars if you have any. In cloudy weather this activity will run as an indoor astronomical research activity at the BEC.
Wildlife of the Night
A guided night walk to Screw Creek to look for signs of wildlife and find out what creatures are active in
the bush after the sun goes down.
Rockpool Ramble
Be amazed as you explore our shores and discover our spectacular rock pool life. Sea stars, crabs,
marine snails, colourful seaweeds and sponges are among the rock platform diversity to be seen with your expert guide.
