FAMDA is ready to host its 24th South Gippsland One Act Play Festival this weekend with, as its major prize, the $1000 Bruce Crowl Award. The festival has grown over the years thanks to generous sponsorship provided by the Toora and Foster Community Bank.
A local component includes performances from Koonwarra Village School on Saturday morning, Leongatha Lyric on Saturday night and a brand new play, written specially for FAMDA, on Sunday morning.
The festival takes place over five sessions, with at least four entries in each, and a fascinating assortment of over twenty plays on offer with dramas and comedies, varying from the feisty to the frivolous, some with a serious message, and others whose purpose is simply to entertain.

Audience members have a choice of tiered or table or seating. You may BYO food and drink if you wish or purchase food from the kitchen during the designated breaks between the plays.
It’s all happening at the Foster War Memorial Arts Centre this weekend, 29th and 30th August.
Tickets cost $10 per session for adults, children and students are free. A $30 Festival Pass entitles the holder to see every play in the festival.
