An exhibition of prints by Rona Green
Rona Green is an Australian artist whose practice spans three decades. Throughout these years her work has reflected an enduring interest in the figure and notably a dedication to the development of extraordinary hybrid characters. This exhibition presents a selection of Rona’s hand coloured linocut prints that depict a variety of native, feral and domestic anthropomorphised creatures. Fueled by a fascination with the animal, she explores ideas about the nature of individuality, persona and transformation.
After graduating from La Trobe University (Bendigo Campus) in 1995, Rona also attained a Master of Fine Art degree from Monash University (Gippsland Campus) in 2012. As well she has received several notable awards for her printmaking and her works on paper are represented in over 70 public art collections including Gippsland Art Gallery, Latrobe Regional Gallery and the National Gallery of Australia. Rona lives and works in the Dandenong Ranges.
