About the artist

Melanie Caple, was selected to paint the mural through a public voting process that
took place late November 2023. The brief required artists to respond to a theme created by the Korumburra Secondary College which encouraged artists to incorporate the local community, landscape, flora and fauna into the work through fantastical and immersive imagery.
This work draws attention to species of flora and fauna of the South Gippsland region.
