Mount Fatigue offers beautiful views of South Gippsland.
From a scenic lookout at the top of Mount Fatigue you can admire South Gippsland’s rolling hills and sweeping farmland as it stretches all the way to the coastline. The drive to Mount Fatigue is predominantly sealed, although there is a good section of unmade road where caution and low speeds are advised. The route is particularly scenic with a variety of landscapes on offer. Rolling countryside is on show as you climb towards the peak of Mount Best, then as you near Mount Fatigue the scenery swaps to green tree ferns and dense forests.
Due to the height of Mount Fatigue visibility can be reduced on cloudy days or particularly hot days when heat haze can be an issue. An alternative route for this drive is to drive to Toora then commence the drive from Toora North.
This is a slow going drive and signage is limited in places. In distance the drive is only 17km, however you should allow an hour to reach Mount Fatigue comfortably due to the slow driving conditions.
South Gippsland is a large region and has many wonderful scenic drive opportunities.
Green mountainous terrain, flat pastures and winding coastal tracks can all be found in South Gippsland.
