Liptrap Loft blends modern, Japanese-influenced architecture with recycled materials to create a weekend getaway like no other. Only a short drive from the pristine beaches of Walkerville and Venus Bay, this hideaway in the lush farmlands of South Gippsland is the perfect place to recharge your soul. This all-season rural and coastal retreat is like nothing you have seen before. Liptrap Loft is not a five-star bed and breakfast, it is a getaway for those who enjoy experiencing wildlife and nature in a charming rural setting. Rustic but comfortable, the house suits guests who demand more character and seclusion than found at your typical nearby motel.

The one-bedroom, open-plan hideaway is secluded on five private acres and surrounded by farmland, without a single neighbour in sight. The house was constructed by Jim Commadeur, a man of unusual talents. Some say he was builder and cabinet maker, others say a piano maker and champion runner – but all regarded him as a pedantic master craftsman. Just over two hours south-east of Melbourne, Liptrap Loft is hidden among the lush farmland of South Gippsland between Tarwin Lower and Walkerville on the Promontory Coast. The relatively unexplored nearby coastline is often compared to Tasmania due to its rugged charm and stunning secluded beaches. It is five minute drive to Walkerville Beach.
