Enjoy Autumn Outdoors

Autumn in South Gippsland is a beautiful time to get outdoors. Warm days and cool evenings create the perfect balance for scenic walks, nature exploration and relaxing meals at local cafés and eateries.

Take a stroll along the Koonwarra Biodiversity Walk on the Great Southern Rail Trail, where you can learn about local flora and fauna and listen for the many bird calls along the way.

After your walk, stop in Meeniyan for refreshments before continuing your nature experience at the Meeniyan Bird Hide.

School Holiday Activities for Families

There are plenty of ways to keep the kids entertained during the school holidays.

Throughout the break, MYLI Library branches in Foster, Toora, Mirboo North, Leongatha and Korumburra will host a range of activities and events for children. Check the MYLI Library website for dates and details.

Families can also take part in Parks Victoria Junior Ranger Activities, offering hands-on experiences where children can learn about wildlife, plants, marine life and Indigenous heritage. These sessions are free and ideal for primary school-aged children.
